the side gear shaft.

Using a torque wrench. check the preload

flange one turn

seconds

measure the
preload.
If preload is less than specification, retighten

IF
THERE
IS EXCESS PRELOAD,
CORRECT
IN
FOLLOWING PROCEDURE
(a)
Remove the axle flange.
(b) Remove the
rear
axle shaft
and
spacer.
(c)
Remove the outside bearing and oil seal.
(d)
Install
the outer bearing and oil seal.
(e)
Install the
rear
axle
shaft,
new bearing spacer and
flange.
(f)
Readjust
preload.
