(c) Install the steering rack to the cylinder housing.
(d) Remove SST.

4. INSTALL RACK END GUIDE AND WAVE WASHER
Install the rack end guide with oil groove facing toward
t he staked groove.
5. INSTALL CYLINDER END STOPPER WITH O·RINII
(a) Insert SST to the oil seal of the cylinder end SIOI>I*.
• Install one SST into the other.
• Install
twO
SST into the oil seal .
• Remove one SST from the other.
(b) Install the cylinder end stopper
housing.
(c) Remove SST.

6. INSTALL RACK HOUSING TO CYLINDER
HOUSING
NOTE: Make sure that the 0-ring, spacer and seal

i nstalled between the rack housing and the cylinder hoo>
ing.
(a) Install the rack housing.
(b) Install the four bolts and torque them.
Torque:

7. INSTALL CYLINDER END STOPPER NUT
(a) Coat liquid sealer onto the screw surface of the new
nut.
(b) Install the cylinder end stopper
torque the nut.

.Torque: 1,750 kg·cm (127 fl·lb, 172 N-m)
(c) Stake the end stopper nut to the cyl inder housi11
flange.
