7. REMOVE REAR SUPPORT MEMBER

Ia) Remove the ground strap and the rubber exhaust
hanger.
lb) Remove the eight bolts and support.
REMOVE EXTENSION HOUSING AND GASKET
Remove the six bolts. If necessary, tap the extension hous-
ing with a soft-faced hammer or block of wood to loosen it.
CLEAN AND INSPECT COMPONENTS
Ia) Wash components in clean solvent, and dry with com-
pressed air.
lb) Check the case. speedometer gear and output shaft
for cracks, wear or damage.
INSTALLATION OF EXTENSION HOUSING
NOTE: If necessary, insta11 a new oil seal before insta11a·
tion. !See page AT-103)
1. INSTALL NEW GASKET AND EXTENSION HOUSING ON
TRANSMISSION
lnsta11 the six bolts finger tight, then torque them.
NOTE·: The two lower bolts are shorter.
Torque: 345 kg-em 125 ft·lb. 34 N·m)
