INSPECTION OF EGR VALVE
1 . C HECK AND CLEAN FILTER IN EGA VACUUM
MODULATOR
lal Check the filter lor contamination or damage.
(bl Using compressed air, clean the tater .

PREPARATION
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve and, us·
ing a three way union, connect a vacuum gauge to it.
3.
CHECK SEATING OF EGA VALVE

Start the engine and check that the engine stans and runs

CHECK VSV WITH COLD ENGINE

(e) Check that the vacuum gauge indicates high vacuum

NOTE: As a large amount of EGR gas enters, the engine
will mis fire.
(f)
Disconnect the vacuum gauge and reconnect the
vacuum hoses to the proper locations.
