A/C Compressor Clutch Circuit Troubleshooting (cont'd)
8. Measure the voltage between the A/C compressor
clutch relay 4P socket No. 1 terminal and body
ground.

A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH RELAY 4P SOCKET
Is there battery voltage?
YES
NO −
(see page 22-83).
9. Connect the A/C compressor clutch relay 4P socket
No. 1 and No. 2 terminals with a jumper wire.

Does the A/ C compressor clutch click?
YES
NO −

Go to step 9.
Replace the under-hood fuse/relay box
BLU/RED
−
Go to step 10.
Go to step 19.
10. Disconnect the jumper wire.
11. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
12. Measure the voltage between the A/C compressor
clutch relay 4P socket No. 4 terminal and body
ground.
A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH RELAY 4P SOCKET
LT GRN
Is there battery voltage?
YES − Go to step 13.

NO Repair open in the wire between the No. 16
(7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay
box and the A/C compressor clutch relay.
13. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
14. Reinstall the A/C compressor clutch relay.
15. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
NOTE: This step must be done to protect the
engine/powertrain control module (PCM) from
damage.
16. Disconnect ECM/PCM connector A (49P).
