THROTTLE LINKAGE INSPECTION/

ADJUSTMENT

STANDARD INSPECTION/
ADJUSTMENT
1. Remove the engine cover.
2. Check the throttle cable length of the sections
shown at the throttle cam [1] open side and the close
side respectively.
OPEN SIDE: 10.0 mm (0.39 in)
CLOSE SIDE 15.0 mm (0.59 in)
3. If the measurement is above or below the
specification, adjust by loosening the adjusting nut
[2] at the throttle cam open side or the close side as
needed.
After adjusting, tighten the adjusting nut to specified
torque.
TORQUE: 3.5 N·m (0.36 kgf·m, 2.6 lbf·ft)
Install the water proof cap [3] securely after tightening
the adjust nut.
4. Measure the throttle cable length from the end of the
threaded part to the lock nut end.
Measure at the throttle arm [1] open side and the
close side respectively.
OPEN SIDE: 18.0 mm (0.71 in)
CLOSE SIDE 19.0 mm (0.75 in)
5. If the measurement is above or below the
specification, adjust by loosening the adjusting nut
[2] at the open side or the close side as needed.
After adjusting, tighten the adjusting nut to specified
torque.
TORQUE: 3.5 N·m (0.36 kgf·m, 2.6 lbf·ft)
6. Move the remote control lever [1] to the "F"
(Forward) full open position.
If it is hard to move the remote control lever to the
"F" (Forward) position with the engine stopped,
move the lever while turning the propeller or
propeller shaft.
Do not move the remote control lever with force or
damage to the gearshift system can result.

15.0 mm (0.59 in)
