FUEL SYSTEM
If the fuel pressure does not rise, connect the vacuum
tube to the pressure regulator. Pinch the pressure
regulator return hose [1] that goes from the pressure
regulator to the vapor separator 2 or 3 times lightly, and
measure the fuel pressure again. If the measurement is
outside the specified standard pressure, replace the
pressure regulator.
• Protect the pressure regulator return hose by
winding a shop towel or equivalent around the hose,
and lightly pinch the hose with the pliers [2].

FUEL PUMP (LOW PRESSURE SIDE)

INSPECTION

Remove the fuel pump (low pressure side) (page 5-67).
Push the fuel pump plunger [1] and make sure the
plunger moves smoothly.
If the plunger is stiff, replace the fuel pump (low
pressure side).
