LUBRICATION SYSTEM
Using the special tools or hydraulic press, install each
oil seal to the position shown.
• Press-fit the oil seal (46 x 60 x 9 mm) [1] to the
position 23.2 – 23.8 mm (0.24 – 0.27 in) [2] from the
body end to the oil seal face.
• Press-fit the oil seal (31 x 46 x 7 mm) [3] to the
position 8.7 – 9.3 mm (1.74 – 1.76 in) [4] from the
body end to the oil seal face with the oil pump cover
mounted with the flat screws.
Oil seal (46 x 60 x 9 mm):
TOOLS:
Driver [5]
Oil seal driver attachment,
72 mm [6]
Oil seal (31 x 46 x 7 mm):
TOOL:
Oil seal driver, 44.5 mm [7]
Apply marine grease to the lips of each oil seal.
Install the oil pump (page 12-9).

OIL PRESSURE TEST

Remove the cooling fan cover (page 5-68).
Check the engine oil level (page 3-4).
Release the two main wire harness band clips [1]
located above the ECM, and pull the harness away
from the engine.
Protect the main wire harness [2] with a shop towel or
equivalent material.
Remove the oil pressure sealing bolt [3] and washer [4]
from the crankcase upper cover.
