1. Battery test
Remove the battery.
Check the battery condition using the commercially available battery tester.
Is the battery in good condition?
YES
NO
2. Alternator F line inspection
Turn the combination switch OFF.
Disconnect the alternator 4P connector
Turn the combination switch ON.
Measure the voltage between the alternator 4P
connector
(White/Green) and engine ground.
Is there 4.30 – 5.25 V?
YES
NO

– GO TO STEP 2.
– Faulty battery.
wire harness side No.4 terminal
– Replace the alternator with a new one and
recheck.
– Repair open or short circuit in the wire
between the ECM and alternator. If wire
harness is normal, replace the ECM with a
new one and recheck.
