WATER SEPARATOR/WATER LEVEL
SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION/
CLEANING
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive.
You can be burned or seriously injured when
handling fuel.
• Keep heat, sparks, and flame away.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
REMOVAL
Turn the combination switch OFF, and disconnect the
battery negative (–) cable, then the battery positive (+)
cable.
Remove the L. engine under cover (page 6-4).
Remove the water separator/water level sensor 2P
connector [1] from the stay [2].
Disconnect the 2P connector and release it from the
harness clip [3].
Clamp the fuel tubes [4] and fuel tube D [5] with
commercially available hose clamps.
Disconnect the fuel tubes and fuel tube D.
Remove the water separator Assy. [6] from the bracket
[7].
DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY/
CLEANING
Remove the suspension [1] from the water separator
cup [2].
Remove the three screw/washers (5 x 12 mm) [3] and
water separator cover [4], and then remove the plate [5]
from the water separator cup.
Remove the float [6] from the separator cup.
Clean the separator cup using low flash point solvent.
Install a new O-ring [7] to the separator cup.
Install the float to the separator cup.
Install the separator cover and plate to the separator
cup and loosely tighten the three screw/washers.
Install the suspension to the separator cup, and then
position the drain joint [8] of separator cup on the side
[9] of suspension as shown.
