CYLINDER HEAD DISASSEMBLY/

DISASSEMBLY
Remove the following:
– Cylinder head (page 14-22)
– Timing belt back cover (page 14-6)
Remove the four nuts [1], injector base [2], gasket [3],
and the two dowel pins [4].
Loosen the twelve valve adjusting lock nuts [1] and
twelve adjusting screws [2].
Loosen the ten bolts in the numbered order in two or
three steps, and remove the rocker arm shafts [1].
• Identify parts as they are removed so they can be
reinstalled in their original locations.
• When removing the rocker arm assembly, do not
remove the rocker shaft mounting bolts. The bolts
will keep the springs and rocker arms on the shaft.
Remove the two bolts (8 x 28 mm) [1], and then remove
the camshaft thrust cover [2], O-ring [3], and the
camshaft [4].
Remove the oil seal [5] from the cylinder head.
