CYLINDER HEAD
Be sure to degrease, clean, or lubricate the following
parts before installation.
Crankshaft pulley bolt [1]
• Degrease the entire surface of the bolt-washer
(especially the washer and the crankshaft pulley
mating surface) with a clean shop towel.
• Apply engine oil to the flanged part of the bolt and
the washer mating surface.
• Apply engine oil to the threaded part of the bolt.
• Do not apply engine oil to the washer and the
crankshaft pulley mating surface.
Crankshaft pulley [2]
• Remove oil from the bottom of the crankshaft pulley
boss using a degreasing cleaning agent.
• Degrease the bolt-washer mounting surface on the
crankshaft pulley using a clean shop towel.
• Do not contaminate the belt installation parts with oil.
Timing belt drive pulley [3] /timing guide plate [4]
• Degrease the entire surface of the timing belt drive
pulley and the timing belt guide plate using a
degreasing cleaning agent.
Crankshaft [5]
• Spray a degreasing cleaning agent over a clean
shop towel, and wipe the entire surface of the
crankshaft to remove oil thoroughly.
• Do not let the oil seals and other rubber parts get
sprayed or contaminated with the degreasing
cleaning agent.
• Do not spray the degreasing cleaning agent directly
over the crankshaft. Be sure to wipe the crankshaft
with a clean shop towel sprayed with the degreasing
cleaning agent.
Install the timing guide plate [1] with its tapered side
facing down by aligning the key groove [2] of the
crankshaft and key groove [3] of the timing guide plate.
Align the boss [4] of the CKP sensor [5] with the hole [6]
of the wire harness.
Install the CKP sensor by aligning the boss [7] of the
CKP sensor with the hole [8] of the cylinder block.
Install and tighten the bolt (6 x 16 mm) [9].
