CYLINDER BLOCK
CRANKSHAFT AXIAL CLEARANCE
Measure the crankshaft axial clearance.
STANDARD:
0.10 – 0.35 mm (0.004 – 0.014 in)
SERVICE LIMIT:
0.45 mm (0.018 in)
If the measurement exceeds the service limit, check the
thrust washers and the thrust surface of the crankshaft.
Replace the thrust washers with new ones, and
recheck.
If the measurement still exceeds the service limit,
replace the crankshaft.
CRANKSHAFT RUNOUT
Install the No.1 main bearing [1] and No.4 main bearing
[2] to the cylinder block [3].
Install the crankshaft to the cylinder block [4].
Measure the crankshaft runout.
STANDARD:
0.025 mm (0.0010 in) Max.
SERVICE LIMIT:
0.030 mm (0.0012 in)
