Deleting Event Logs
The log files that can be referred to through the event viewer are normally updated
according to the values entered by the [Event Log settings] command in the case of
Windows NT and by [Properties] on the [Action] menu in the case of Windows XP. The
following procedure is taken to clear the content of all log files.
For Windows NT
(1)
From the [Log] menu, click [Clear All Events].
→ The message [Do you want to save this event log before clearing it ?] appears
prompting to enter a Yes or No.
(2)
Click [No] to proceed without saving event logs.
→ The [Clear Event Log] alert appears.
(3)
Click [Yes] to proceed.
→ All log entries on the [Event Viewer] window are cleared.
For Windows XP
(1)
From the [Action] menu, click [Clear All Events].
→ The message [Do you want to save "Application log" before clearing it ?] appears
prompting to enter a Yes or No.
(2)
Click [No] to proceed without saving event logs.
→ All log entries on the [Event Viewer] window are cleared.
