Partial Adjustment (Adjustment of density and contrast near specified density)
By varying the shift parameter value, adjust the density at the point specified by parameter density with
respect to the gamma curve that has been subjected to the overall adjustment. Also adjust the inclination
(rise) of the gamma curve by varying the contrast parameter value.
This partial adjustment can be done at up to five points.
• density (equivalent to "parameter D point" in the MF-300 series)
Its input range is from 0 to 300 (corresponding to 0 to 3.00 in density), provided that Min. density <
density < Max. density.
The density near the point specified by density is varied, as a rule; however, when the density near the
middle of the gamma curve is specified, the density of the gamma curve as a whole is varied.
• shift (equivalent to "parameter D shift" in the MF-300 series)
Its input range is from –100 to +100 (corresponding to –1.00 to +1.00 in density), provided that Min.
density < density ± shift < Max. density.
• contrast
Contrast represents the inclination of the gamma curve near the point specified by density after density
variation. Its input range is from 10 to 400 (inclination of gamma curve, multiplied by 100). With
contrast = 100, there is no variation in the gamma curve inclination; with contrast < 100, it becomes
gradual, while it becomes sharp with contrast > 100.
