Maintenance 10. Installing Software for GX150 Series Control Unit
Installing Windows NT
Use the "Reinstallation CD" enclosed with the control unit (PC) to install Windows NT
for the DELL OptiPlex GX150 series.
After freeing up an area of hard disk space, secure the area again to install in the same
manner as installing to the former GX1/GX110 series.
Outline of procedure is shown below.

When the power of control unit is switched on, start up begins from the
"Reinstallation CD" inserted at " Preparation". After this, set up starts
automatically, so move forward in order following the instructions on the
screen.

[Setup has found Windows NT on your hard disk in the directory shown below.]
appears on the screen, so press <N> key (New Version). Move forward in
order following the instructions on the screen.

[The list below shows existing partitions and spaces available for creating
new partitions.] appears on the screen, so choose each partition displayed,
and press <D> key (Delete partition), <Enter> key (Continue) (not necessary
except for deletion of system partition), then <L> key (Delete) in this order to
delete all partitions.
After deleting all partitions, "Unpartitioned space xxxx MB" appears (xxxx
varies depending on the capacity of the hard disk drive).

After deleting all partitions, select "Unpartitioned space xxxx MB" and press
<C> key (Create partition).

Enter "2047" (unit: MB) in [Create partition of size (in MB)] as the size to be
set for system partition (C partition). In the same manner, choose the
remainder of "Unpartitioned space xxxx MB", press <C> key (Create partition),
and input the remaining capacity (D partition) (varies depending on the
capacity of the hard disk drive) after subtracting the system partition size.

Choose "C: New (Unformatted) 2047 MB" as the partition for installation of
Windows NT, and press <Enter> key (Install).

On the partition format selection screen, choose "Format the partition using
the NTFS file system", then press <Enter> key (Continue).
(8)
On the installation location selection screen, press <Enter> key (Continue)
without changing the contents displayed as default.
(9)
On the hard disk more exhaustive secondary examination execution selection
screen, press <Enter> key (Continue).
(10) [This portion of Setup has completed successfully.] appears on the screen,
so remove the CD-ROM from the drive, then press <Enter> key (Restart
Computer).
