Maintenance 10. Installing Software for GX150 Series Control Unit
Installing the Video Driver
(1)
Startup the Dell OptiPlex ResourceCD menu screen.
(2)
Select [Video] from [Device Type] column, and click [INTEL 815] from the list
of [OptiPlex GX150 Video Drivers Windows NT 4.0].
(3)
When the [OptiPlex GX150 Video Drivers Windows NT 4.0>INTEL 815] screen
is displayed, scroll the screen down to the bottom, then click [Extract].
(4)
When the [WinZip Self-Extractor] screen is displayed, click [OK], [Unzip],
and [OK] in this order.
(5)
When the [Internet Explorer] window is displayed, scroll the screen down to
the bottom and click [Install Now].
(6)
When the [Confirm File Open] screen is displayed, click [Open].
(7)
When the [Welcome] screen is displayed, click [Next].
(8)
When the [Setup Complete] screen is displayed, remove the CD-ROM from
the drive, and check [Yes, I want to restart my computer now.], then click
[Finish].
(9)
The system restarts, so perform the common restarting procedure for installing
the various types of drivers.
(10) From the [Start] menu on the Windows NT desktop, click [Settings] and then
[Control Panel].
(11) Double-click the [Display] icon on the [Control Panel] window.
(12) Click the [Settings] tab on the [Display Properties] dialog.
(13) Set [Color Palette] to "True Color or 1677216 Colors", [Desktop Area] to "640
by 480 pixels" and [Refresh Frequency] to "75 Hertz".
(14) Click [Test], then click [OK] on the [Testing Mode] information.
(15) Check that the test bit map is displayed properly, and click [Yes] on the [Testing
Mode] checking message.
(16) Click [OK] on the [Display Properties] dialog, and close the [Control Panel]
window.
