1. Category 5 cable is preferred to category 3 cable (which is about 20% cheaper as at Decem-
ber 1996) because it is more widely available and is also compatible with future conversion

2. Underlining indicates cable length.
Port number for cascade connection
The port used for cascade connection varies between models. The Centre COM MR820TR
uses port 8, while all other Allied Telsys models use port 1. All Showa Electric Wire & Cable
models use port 1.
