6. Checking Operations
Image Quality Adjustment
(1)
In consultation with the user, determine the final image quality conditions of
print film.
(2)
To change the image quality, exit from the FN-PS551 application to start up
the Service Utility.
Open the [Network Client Property] dialog for each client from the [Client]
tab on the [SERVICE UTILITY] window. Change the relevant settings on the
[magnify] (for enlargement/reduction condition) and [LUT] (for tone correction
condition) tabs of the [Network Clients Property] dialog.
Then, restart the FN-PS551 application to print out the image from a client at
the new settings, and check the printed output for image quality.
NOTE
• The FN-PS551 processes in accordance to the parameters when image
quality parameters accompany image data transmitted from the DICOM
and TOSHIBA protocol clients. Therefore, image quality adjustments using
the FN-PS551 Service Utility are not performed. If using the FN-PS551 to
adjust image quality, it is necessary to set the client to not send the image
quality parameters.
• If the IPU function (supporting software ver. A03 or later) is used, the
condition of image quality (each image processing) is changed at the side
of a client because image data is processed with image processing
parameters accompanied by the data from the client.
However, if any image processing condition (Dynamic range control
processing, Tomographic artifact suppression processing, Multi-objective
frequency processing or Pattern enhancement processing for mammo-
graphy (supporting software ver. A04 or later as an option)) needs to be
added at the FN-PS551, start up the Parameter Updating Editor from the
[Utility] menu in the [FN-PS551] window. And then change appropriate
parameter settings.
However, for software ver. A04 or later, Parameter Updating Editor can not
be used in some cases (parameter setting is not necessary) depending on
the FINP property setting of FN-PS551 Service Utility. Even if it is usable,
settable image processing parameters vary depending on the Service Utility
settings.
Refer to the "FN-PS551 Operation Manual" for further information about
the Parameter Updating Editor including how to use it.
