Maintenance 7. Service Utility
• [data volume per file (KBytes):]:
Enter the maximum data volume (in kilobytes) for each film received from
clients. The default value is 1024.
NOTE
How to calculate the data volume for a file:
{(image data size × no. of bytes per pixel) + overlay data size} × maximum
number of frames / 1024 + 16 KB
• Bytes per pixel:
• Overlay data size
• Dividing by 1024 (in above expression) converts from byte to KB.
• 16 KB (in above expression) represents the data area consistently required
for storing image data.
(Example)
Image data size = 1024 × 1024
Bytes per pixel = 10 bits per pixel division, i.e., 2 bytes
Overlay data size = 1024 × 1024 / 8
Maximum number of frames = 20
Thus, {(1024 × 1024 × 2) + (1024 × 1024 / 8)} × 20 / 1024 + 16 = 43,536 KB
• [Multi Modality DMS:]:
This parameter is disabled (not currently available). The value "disable" is
only valid. The other values are not selectable.

Up to 8 bits per pixel division: 1 byte
Over 8 bits per pixel division: 2 bytes
Overlay data size / 8 (due to stored bit = 1)
This value is not required if there is no overlay data.
