Using the Event Viewer

Various events that occur during Windows NT/XP operation are recorded (or logged) in
the [Event Viewer] if used. Information such as resource information and a system
operation status is included in each event. If an error occurs, the following logs can be
used to trace the cause of the error.

Event Viewer Functions

System Log:
The system log contains events logged by the various Windows NT/XP components.
For example, if a system component such as a driver fails to load at startup, the
corresponding event is recorded in the system log.
Security Log:
The security log contains security events. Security events are used to monitor changes
to the security system and detect acts of invading it. The security log records valid and
invalid log-on attempts as well as resource usage events (creation, open or deletion of
files).
Application Log:
The application log contains specific events logged by the FN-PS551 application. The
application developer determines which events to be monitored.
