2.1 Overview and Supplementary Explanation for Display of Film Character
Area (IPU Settings 23 and 26 to 36)
This section summarizes and explains the display of film character area 0 and area 1 that are used to
output image with the film character area overlapping the image area. These settings are needed for the
output format of the film when the IPU function (supporting software A03 or later) is used.
Overview
The film character area is displayed as following formats.
• Area 0
Data concerning hospital name, patient name, sex, patient ID, age or birth date, exposure date, exposure
time, set processing information, and department name is displayed and printed out in this area.
An example of display of area 0 is shown below.

• Area 1
Data concerning IP number, EDR mode/menu code, system ID/image number, image condition,
normalization condition/correction item, engineer code, exposure bed information, and compression code
is displayed and printed out in this area.
