Maintenance 10. Installing Software for GX150 Series Control Unit
Installing the Network Driver
(1)
Startup the Dell OptiPlex ResourceCD menu screen.
(2)
Select [Network (NIC)] from [Device Type] column, and click [3COM 3C905C]
from the list of [OptiPlex GX150 Network (NIC) Drivers Windows NT 4.0].

When the [OptiPlex GX150 Network (NIC) Drivers Windows NT 4.0> 3COM
3C905C] screen is displayed, scroll the screen down to the bottom, then
click [Extract].

When the [WinZip Self-Extractor] screen is displayed, click [OK], [Unzip],
and [OK] in this order.
(5)
When the [Internet Explorer] window is displayed, click close box
the window.
(6)
From the [Start] menu on the Windows NT desktop, click [Settings] and then
[Control Panel].
(7)
Double-click the [Network] icon on the [Control Panel] window.
(8)
When [Windows NT Networking is not installed. Do you want to install it
now?] is displayed, click [Yes].
(9)
When the [Network Setup Wizard] screen is displayed, check [Wired to the
network], then click [Next].
(10) When [To have setup start searching for a Network Adapter, click Start Search
button.] is displayed, click [Select from list...].
(11) When the [Select Network Adapter] screen is displayed, click [Have Disk...].
(12) When the [Insert Disk] screen is displayed, type "C:\DELL\DRIVERS\1934V"
in the blank field, then click [OK].
(13) When the [Select OEM Option] screen is displayed, click [OK].
(14) Confirm that "3Com EtherLink PCI NIC" is checked in the [Network Adapters:]
column, and click [Next].
(15) Check "TCP/IP Protocol" in the [Network Protocols:] column, and click [Next].
(16) When the [Network Services:] column is displayed, click [Next].
(17) When [Windows NT is now ready to install the networking components that
you selected and others required by the system.] is displayed, click [Next].
