Installing Software for GX260 Series Control Unit

CAUTION
When reinstallation is performed from OS for DELL OptiPlex GX260 series
(Windows XP) control unit (PC) models, remove the printer interface board
(PEI01A board) from the control unit before reinstallation, and attach it again
after installation of FN-PS551 application and key registry is complete. If
reinstallation is performed without removing it, the printer interface board will
not be recognized properly and operation is not performed normally.
However, it is not necessary to remove the printer interface board if only the
application is to be reinstalled.
NOTE
• The software installation procedure shown in this section applies to OptiPlex
GX260 series control unit (PC) models.
• The software installation procedure shown in this section is not explained
in detail as in the former "8. Software Installation".
Install referring to the contents shown below and in the instruction manual
enclosed with the control unit (PC).
Installation information is sometimes changed, therefore refer to support
information on the DELL Web site if necessary.
The version of the "DELL OptiPlex ResourceCD" used at installation of
the various types of driver software changes according to the timing of
shipment. Therefore refer to the DELL Web site for the installation guide
corresponding to the version of the "DELL OptiPlex Resource CD" to be
used.
• After successfully completing the software installation, start up the service
utility and set each configuration.
If the service utility settings file has been saved onto a floppy disk during
the normal operation of the FN-PS551 system prior to beginning the
software reinstallation, the settings can be restored from this file.
