Electric steering column lock: Removal - Refitting
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a
WARNING
The bolt for the electric steering column lock has
a left-hand thread. It unscrews in a clockwise
direction.
a Remove the bolt (2) from the electric steering col-
umn lock.
a Remove the electric steering column lock.
a Disconnect the electric steering column lock con-
nector (3) .
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Connect the electric steering column lock connector.
a Refit the electric steering column lock.
a Torque tighten the electric steering column lock
bolt (8 N.m).
II - FINAL OPERATION.
a Refit the front air distribution duct (see Front air dis-
tribution duct: Removal - Refitting) (61A, Heating
system).
a Clip on the absorber.

a Refit the dashboard lower trim (see Dashboard
lower trim: Removal - Refitting) (57A, Interior
equipment).
a Unlock the airbag computer by applying the after re-
pair procedure using the Diagnostic tool :
- connect the Diagnostic tool,
- select "Airbag computer",
- go to repair mode,
- display the "Before/after repair procedure" for the
selected computer,
- carry out the operations described in the "After re-
pair procedure" section.
a In the event of replacement, apply the after repair
procedure using the Diagnostic tool :
- connect the Diagnostic tool,
- select "UCH",
- go to repair mode,
- display the "Before/after repair procedure" for the
selected computer,
- select "Steering column lock" in the "List of compo-
nents controlled by this computer" section,
- carry out the operations described in the "After re-
pair procedure" section.
