Engine wiring: Removal - Refitting
F4R or M4R
a Refit:
- the engine wiring,
- the wiring channel on the front left-hand side mem-
ber,
- the nut on the wiring channel.
F4R, and 6-SPEED AUTOMA TIC GEARBOX
a Connect the R 262 connector.
a Clip:
- the passenger compartment wiring harness on the
wiring channel,
- the wiring on the engine cooling fan assembly.
a Connect:
- the engine cooling fan assembly connector,
- the engine cooling fan assembly resistor connec-
tor,
- the refrigerant pressure sensor connector.
a Refit the two earth nuts on the front left-hand side
member.
a Torque tighten the two earth nuts on the front left-
hand side member (8 N.m).
a Refit:
- the wiring channel on the gearbox,
- the upper nuts on the gearbox.
a Torque tighten the upper nuts on the gearbox (44
N.m).
a Clip:
- the cooling hose,
- the wiring on the engine.
a Refit the earth bolt on the gearbox.
a Torque tighten the earth bolt on the gearbox (21
N.m).

a Connect the R 22 connector.

a Connect:
- the vacuum pump connector,
- the downstream oxygen sensor connector,
- the coolant temperature sensor connector,
- the brake servo vacuum sensor connector,
- the turbocharging pressure regulation solenoid
valve connector,
- the crankshaft position sensor connector,
- the air temperature sensor connector,
- the oil level sensor connector,
- the turbocharging pressure sensor connector,
- the oil pressure sensor connector,
- the pinking sensor connector,
- the air conditioning compressor connectors,
- the throttle valve connector,
- the oil vapour heater connector,
- the air inlet pressure sensor connector,
- the petrol injector connectors,
- ignition coils,
- the upstream oxygen sensor connector,
- the petrol vapour recirculation solenoid valve con-
nector.
M4R
a Refit the earth nut on the engine.
a Torque tighten the earth nut on the engine (21
N.m).
a Connect:
- the reversing sensor connector,
- the power-assisted steering pump assembly con-
nectors,
- the crankshaft position sensor connector,
- the downstream oxygen sensor connector,
- the upstream oxygen sensor connector,
- the air flowmeter connector,
- the throttle valve connector,
- the coolant temperature sensor connector,
- the camshaft position sensor connector,
