Battery terminals: Removal - Refitting

REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
1 - Negative terminal
a Push the negative battery terminal fully onto the bat-
tery terminal post.
WARNING
T o avoid any damage to the wiring, observe the
correct orientation of the battery terminal.
a Ensure that the battery's negative terminal is cor-
rectly oriented.
WARNING
Incorrect tightening could cause heating of con-
tacts, starting or charging faults, sparking, or
could cause the battery to explode (see 80A,
Battery, Battery: Precautions for the repair,
page 80A-1) .
a Torque tighten the negative battery terminal (8
Nm).
BATTERY
a Clip the negative wiring (11) .
a Refit:
- the wiring (12) onto the battery's negative terminal,
- the wiring (13) onto the battery's negative terminal.

a Torque tighten the negative wiring nut (8 N.m) (14)

2 - Positive terminal
a Ensure that the battery's negative terminal is discon-
nected.

WARNING
To ensure a good connection, be sure to refit the
wirings on the same stud.
WARNING
Incorrect tightening could cause heating of con-

could cause the battery to explode (see 80A,
