SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The ignition unit operates with four double igni-
tion coils with double ignition. If the LANE selec-
tor switch is in the "AUTO" position, the active
LANE controls all four double ignition coils which
are connected to the eight spark plugs. In normal
Dual LANE Mode (Auto Mode), both spark plugs
ignite each cylinder at the same time. In LANE A
or LANE B Mode, only one spark plug ignites per
cylinder.
The ignition unit does not require an external
power supply.
FIRING ORDER
1-4-2-3
CHARGING COILS
The two independent charging coils arranged on
the stator each supply one of the two ignition cir-
cuits. The energy is stored in capacitors in the
fuse box. The time of discharge of the capacitors
is defined by the control unit. The capacitors are
discharged via the primary circuit of the double
ignition coils.
INTERNAL GENERATOR B
The internal generator B also supplies non-
engine-related consumers of the aircraft. If elec-
tricity consumption is high, an external generator
(12 V/30 A) can be used. This is driven by the
propeller shaft by means of v-belts and already
has the regulator integrated.

cylinder head and helps to prevent any uncont-
rolled combustion (engine knocking).
