Switch (Inform Mode)
Networking Requirements
As shown in
NMS2 and the Switch. The IP address of the interface connecting NMS1 to the network is on
1.1.1.1/24; the IP address of the interface connecting NMS2 to the network is on 1.1.1.2/24. The
IP address of the Ethernet interface connecting the Switch to the network is on 1.1.2.1/24.
By using the security feature of SNMPv3, configure NMS1 to completely control the network
and configure NMS2 to manage only the interfaces on the Switch.
The NMSs manage the Switch remotely. The Switch sends trap messages to the NMSs in Inform
mode.
