When the NMS frequently sends repeated SET packets to the device, the device performance
will be degraded. The SET response message caching function can reduce the impact on device
performance.

Applicable Environment
When network jitter occurs, the NMS may deliver repeated SET packets to the device in a short
time. Thus the device performance will be greatly degraded. After the SET response message
caching function is configured, the device directly returns the last SET response message to the
NMS if it receives a repeated SET packet, but does not sends the packet to the service module.

Before configuring the SET response message caching function, complete the following tasks:

Do as follows on the S9300 enabled with SNMP agent.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
snmp-agent set-cache enable
The SET response message caching function is enabled.
