Transmission Temperature Warning Indicator Troubleshooting

Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:
1. Fuses.
2. Batteries for proper
charge.
3. All connections relating
to circuit are clean and
tight.

Transmission Temperature
Warning Indicator
Transmission Temperature
Warning Indicator stays ON
while operating and alarm
sounds.
Stop and idle vehicle for
1 minute to allow
transmission oil to cool.
Not OK
Check transmission fluid
level. Check radiator for
plugged condition or debris.
If OK
Check connections and circuit
at sending unit on
transmission.
If OK
Disconnect harness at
sending unit. Indicator
should go out.
If OK
Replace transmission
temperature sending unit
and retest system.
Electrical System

Repair as needed.

Not
Repair as needed.

Check circuit for grounded
wire 32A (TAN)
at pin E. If grounded,
Not
repair wire. Refer to Section
