Cab, Covers and Mirrors
55. Install the joystick assembly (refer to Section 3.5.2, b.
Joystick Assembly Replacement ).
56. Check that the cab is not distorting, pinching, crushing
or damaging the throttle cable, wiring or hydraulic
hoses. Make adjustments as necessary.
57. Fill the radiator completely with a 50/50 mixture of
ethylene glycol and water. Replace the radiator cap.
Add coolant to the overflow bottle until the bottle is
half to three-quarters full. This "overfilling" will
compensate for any air in the cooling system.
58. Tighten the cab to cab mount hardware installed in
Steps 8 and 9. Torque the elastic locknuts and
capscrews to 280 lb/ft (380 Nm).
59. After the cab is securely mounted to the vehicle, install
the mirrors as required (refer to Section 3.6.2, Mirror
Replacement ).
60. Attach the rear cab panel (1) to the cab with four
5/16-18 x 1" button head capscrews (2) and 5/16"
plastic washers (3).
61. Connect the negative (-) battery cable (4) at the
battery negative (-) terminal on the battery in the
engine side battery box.
62. Connect the negative (-) battery equalizer cable (5)
at the bottom of the battery equalizer (6). Torque the
nut to a maximum of 100 lbs/in (11 Nm).

63. Replace engine side battery box cover (7). Use the
wing nuts (8) and carriage bolts (9) to secure the
cover in place.

64. Carefully examine all cab components, fasteners,
etc., one last time before engine start-up. Rectify any
faulty conditions.
WARNING:
under pressure can penetrate the skin and
cause severe personal injury. DO NOT use
your hand or any part of your body to check for
hydraulic leaks. When checking for hydraulic
leaks, wear safety glasses and gloves to help
provide protection from spraying hydraulic oil.
Use a piece of cardboard or paper to search
for leaks.
65. Start the engine and check the operation of all controls.
Check for hydraulic fluid leaks. Check the hydraulic
fluid level in the tank and add fluid as required.
