3.4 CAB HEATER/AIR CONDITIONING
BLOWER BOX
3.4.1

Blower Box Removal

1. Remove engine side battery box cover (1). Remove
wing nuts (2) and carriage bolts (3) and set cover
and mounting hardware aside for later re-assembly.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable (4) at the
battery negative (-) terminal on the battery in the
engine side battery box.
3. Disconnect the negative (-) cable (5) at the bottom of
the battery equalizer (6).

4. Remove seat from seat base. Refer to Section 3.3.2,
Seat Replacement
5. Remove the four capscrews (7), lockwashers (8),
and flat washers (9) securing the seat support
plate (10) to the seat support base (11).

6. Carefully lift the seat plate (10) up far enough to tag
and disconnect the two wires (12) attached to the
cold start button (13) and clip the two wire ties (14)
attached to the tie mounts on the plate. Remove
plate from the vehicle. Pull the wire harness through
the back of the cab to keep it out of the way when
lifting the blower box out of the cab.

7. Remove seat support base (11). Remove the two
capscrews (15), flat washers (16), lockwashers (17)
and nuts (18) securing the back of the seat support
base to the rear wall of the cab.
