b. Alternator Installation
1. Position the alternator (1) and align with the upper
alternator mount on the engine bracket. Insert the
upper ("longer") mounting capscrew (2) through the
rear mount and alternator. Secure the capscrew with
the locknut (3). DO NOT tighten locknut completely
at this time.

2. Align the lower alternator mount hole with the lower
mounting tab on the engine and insert the lower
mounting capscrew (4). Tighten the lower capscrew
and upper locknut (2) securely.

route the fan belt (11) onto the alternator and engine
pulleys. Check the tensioner pulley to verify that it is
pivoting freely to provide the proper tension on the
belt. Check for proper fan belt deflection (refer to
Section 2.13.8, Engine Fan Belt & Air Conditioner
Compressor Belt ).
