6. Engine oil pressure light and alarm will turn ON in
15 seconds if engine is not running.
7. One of three travel direction lights (F, N, or R) must
always remain ON.
8. One of four gear selection lights must always remain
ON "1, 2, 3, 4."
9. One of three steer mode lights must always remain
ON.
10. The appropriate fuel level indicator lights must
always remain ON.
Note: 4 green bars = a full tank; 1 green bar = 1/4 tank,
and at 1/8 tank, no green bars illuminate and the fuel dis-
pensing pump symbol illuminates in orange.

The front windshield wiper switch (14) is located
on the dash panel to the right of the steering col-
umn and is pressed or "snapped" into a rectan-
OT0710
gular switch bezel. It is a three-position switch
providing OFF (upper position), ON (center position) and
WASH (lower position).
a. Removal
1. Remove engine side battery box cover (8). Remove
wing nuts (9) and carriage bolts (10) and set cover
and mounting hardware aside for later re-assembly.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable (5) at the
battery negative (-) terminal on the battery in the
engine side battery box.
3. Disconnect the negative (-) cable (6) at the bottom of
the battery equalizer (7).

4. Carefully pry the windshield wiper switch and wire
connector out of the mounting hole.
5. Disconnect the windshield wiper switch with bezel
from the cab wiring harness connector.
b. Disassembly
DO NOT disassemble the switch. The switch is not
serviceable. Replace the switch if found to be defective.
c. Cleaning and Drying
Without submerging the switch, clean the switch with an
approved solvent and dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.
d. Inspection and Replacement
1. Inspect the switch terminals for continuity with the
switch in the OFF, ON and WASH positions. (Refer
to Section 10.7.29, "Front Wiper/Washer Circuit and
Troubleshooting.")
2. Replace the switch if it fails any of the tests in Step 1.
e. Installation and Testing
1. Connect the windshield wiper switch to the cab
harness connector.
2. Position the switch over the rectangular switch bezel,
and snap into position.
3. Connect the negative (-) battery cable (5) at the
battery negative (-) terminal on the battery in the
OM0810
engine side battery box.
4. Connect the negative (-) battery equalizer cable (6)
at the bottom of the battery equalizer (7). Torque the
nut to a maximum of 100 lbs/in (11 Nm).
5. Replace engine side battery box cover (8). Use the
wing nuts (9) and carriage bolts (10) to secure the
cover in place.
6. Turn the ignition switch (11) to the RUN position (12)
and test the windshield wiper LOW speed and HIGH
speed functions. Turn the ignition switch (11) to the
OFF (13) position.
