To clean and re-torque the 24V (3) and 12V (5) connec-
tions:
1. Disconnect the wire and fuse from equalizer stud.
2. Clean the threads of the nut (8) and capscrew (9) by
burnishing them with steel wool, "Scotchbrite," wire
brush, etc.
3. Clean the contact surfaces of the remaining
hardware (10, 11 and 12) by sanding them on a flat
surface with fine grit sandpaper or "Scotchbrite."
4. Use fine grit sandpaper or "Scotchbrite" to clean the
surfaces of the equalizer stud (13) and wire
terminal (14).
5. To reassemble, first insert the capscrew (9) through
the stud (13) on the equalizer (2).
6. Place a flat washer (10) and fuse (15) onto the
capscrew (9). Position fuse as required to best see
through the clear window.

7. Place the cable (14) onto the capscrew.
8. Place the nylon shoulder washer (16) onto the
capscrew and place against the cable with the hub
toward the cable.
9. Secure in place with a flat washer (11),
lockwasher (12) and nut (8). Torque the nut to a
maximum of 100 lbs/in (11 Nm).
To replace a blown fuse in the 24V (4) and 12V (5) con-
nections, refer to replacement procedure described in
Section 2.13.18, d. Fuse and Relay (Fuel Shut Off Sole-
noid)

To clean and re-torque the GND (6) connection:
1. The difference between the GND connection (6) and
the two positive connections, is that there are only
three pieces of hardware. There is one capscrew (9),
lockwasher (12) and nut (8) securing the negative
cable to the equalizer stud (13).
2. Follow steps 2, 3 and 4 to clean the threads and
contact surfaces of the negative connection.
3. To reassemble, first insert the capscrew (9) through
the stud (13) on the equalizer (2).
4. Place the cable (14) onto the capscrew (9).
5. Secure in place with a lockwasher (12) and nut (8).
Torque the nut to a maximum of 100 lbs/in (11 Nm).
