10.12.10 Rear Wiper Motor

a. Removal
1. Remove engine side battery box cover (1). Remove
wing nuts (2) and carriage bolts (3) and set cover
and mounting hardware aside for later re-assembly.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable (4) at the
battery negative (-) terminal on the battery in the
engine side battery box.
3. Disconnect the negative (-) cable (5) at the bottom of
the battery equalizer (6).

4. Disconnect the washer hose (7) from the top hose
fitting (8).
5. Remove the roof wiper arm (9) from the roof wiper
motor shaft (10).

6. From inside the cab, remove the round head
screw (11), two black nylon flat washers (12),
spacer (13) and acorn nut (14) securing the right
side of the plastic case and wiper motor (15) to the
rear window (16).

7. From the outside of the cab, remove the hex nut (17),
metal washer (18), rubber washer (19) and spacer (20)
from the wiper motor shaft (10). Save all hardware
for later re-assembly

8. Lift the tab (21) on the rear plastic cover and unsnap
the two plastic covers (22 and 23) of the plastic case
to expose the roof wiper motor (24).
9. Label and disconnect the cab harness (25) and the
two jumper wires (26 and 27) from the wiper motor.
10. Remove the wiper motor (24) and plastic
covers (22 and 23) from the vehicle.
11. Disconnect the two jumper wires (26 and 27) running
from the wiper motor switch (28) to the wiper
motor (24).
12. Carefully pry the rear wiper motor switch (28) from
the rectangular opening in the plastic case.
