Boom
23. Remove the attachment tilt and fork side shift
hydraulic hose clamps (1), located at the rear of the
inner boom section. Save mounting hardware for
later reassembly. Pull the hoses toward the rear of
the vehicle, to gain clearance when removing the
extend/retract cylinder.

24. Use a suitable overhead lifting device and sling,
attached to the extend/retract cylinder, push all
hoses aside and carefully withdraw the cylinder from
the inner boom. Readjust the position of the sling as
needed to help balance the cylinder during withdrawal.
When the cylinder is clear of the vehicle, carefully
lower it to the ground.

25. At the rear of the inner boom (2), remove one socket
head shoulder bolt (3), two washers (4), and one
elastic locknut (5) securing the retract chain (6) to
the anchor link. Disconnect the retract chain.

26. From the rear of the boom, pull the attachment
tilt and fork side shift hydraulic hoses through the
boom. Lay the hoses, still attached to the wire, out
MM3430
behind the boom assembly.
27. Use a suitable overhead lifting device and sling attached
to the inner boom; remove slack from the hoist sling,
and withdraw the inner boom approximately two feet
(610 mm).
28. Remove the lower wear pads and spacers attached
to the front of the intermediate boom. Tape and mark
each pad, spacer and fastener for return to its
original position upon reinstallation.
