Note: If new slave cylinder bearings (1) have been
installed in the outer boom or vehicle frame, the fracture
(7) in the bearing race must be positioned at the position
shown in the illustration.
10. Raise each slave cylinder (2) into position at the
outer boom slave-cylinder mounting bosses (3). DO
NOT stretch or damage the slave cylinder hydraulic
hoses.

11. Coat each slave cylinder mount pin (4) with anti-
seize compound. Insert each mount pin through its
circular opening in the chassis weldment and
through the outer boom and slave cylinder mount
eye. A long bolt of the same thread size as the
tapped hole in the cross pin may be threaded into
the cross pin to aid in installation.
Note: ALWAYS replace elastic locknuts with new elastic
locknuts to help ensure proper fastening.
12. Working from above, insert a 5/16-18 x 3-1/2"
capscrew (5) through each slave cylinder mount pin.
Secure the capscrew with a new 5/16-18 elastic
locknut (6). Torque to 18 lb/ft (24 Nm).

13. Use a suitable overhead lifting device and sling
attached to the lift/lower cylinder; remove slack from
the hoist sling, and raise the lift/lower cylinder (8) into
its mount boss on the underside of the outer boom.
Note: ALWAYS replace elastic locknuts with new elastic
locknuts to help ensure proper fastening.
14. Coat the lift/lower cylinder pivot pin (9) with anti-
seize compound. Install the pin through the lower
boom mounting boss and lift/lower cylinder eye and
secure with one 1/2-13 x 4" capscrew (10) and a
new 1/2-13 elastic locknut (11). Torque nut to 75 lb/ft
(102 Nm).
15. Remove the sling from the lift/lower cylinder, and
remove the blocks or supports from beneath the
cylinder.
16. Use a suitable overhead lifting device and sling
attached to the outer boom; raise the outer boom
slightly, and remove the blocks or supports from
beneath the outer boom. Lower the outer boom and
remove the sling and hoist or overhead crane.
Note: ALWAYS replace elastic locknuts with new elastic
locknuts to help ensure proper fastening.
17. Install wire/hose track guide (12) to the studs (13) on
the side of the outer boom. Use eight new 3/8-16
elastic locknuts (14) and 3/8" flat washers (15).
18. As required, install the hydraulic clamps (16) on the
outer boom and secure the fork side shift (17) and
attachment tilt (18) hydraulic tubes within the clamps
on the boom. Connect the metal hydraulic tubes at
the rear bulkheads on the outer boom. Reconnect all
hydraulic tubes and fittings.
