WARNING:

ventilation. Ffailure to properly ventilate
exhaust fumes can result in death or serious
personal injury.
WARNING:
under pressure can penetrate the skin and
cause severe personal injury. DO NOT use
your hand or any part of your body to check for
hydraulic leaks. When checking for hydraulic
leaks, wear safety glasses and gloves to help
provide protection from spraying hydraulic oil.
Use a piece of cardboard or paper to search
for leaks.
30. Start the engine and operate all boom functions
several times. Check the chain tension again and
adjust as necessary (refer to Section 4.3.6, Boom
Chains ). Check for leaks, and check the hydraulic
fluid level in the tank; add fluid if required.
31. Apply grease to all lubrication points (grease
fittings). (Refer to Section 4.3.8, Boom Lubrication
Points .)
4.3.3 Attachment Tilt and Fork Side Shift
Hydraulics Hose Indexing Procedure
1. Install a lifting eye (14) to the hex nut (15) on the
attachment tilt cylinder. Attach suitable overhead
lifting device and sling to the lifting eye.
2. Remove the retaining ring (16) from the upper
attachment pin (17), and remove the pin.
3. Lower the attachment tilt cylinder (15) to gain access
to the hose connections. Loosen the attachment tilt
hose (18) connections at the cylinder.

4. Raise the cylinder back into position and temporarily
install the upper attachment pin (17).
5. Loosen the fork side shift hoses (19) at the fittings on
the fork side shift valve (20).
6. Remove twists from the attachment tilt (18) and fork
side shift hoses and tighten the fork side shift
hoses (19) at the fittings on the fork side shift
valve (20).
7. Remove the attachment pin (17) from the top of the
attachment tilt cylinder (15), and lower the cylinder to
gain access to the attachment tilt hose (18)
connections. Tighten the fittings.
8. Raise the attachment tilt cylinder into position. Coat
the upper attachment cylinder mount pin (17) with anti-
seize compound. Install the pin and retaining
ring (16).
