22. If needed, pull the boom out slightly to align the
extend chain yoke with the bracket. Route the extend
chain yoke and chains around the sheave (1) on the
intermediate boom, and connect the yoke (2) to the
bracket on the outer boom. Secure the yoke to the
bracket with one 1.00 x 1.75 x 3/4-10 socket head
screw (3), two 1.00 x .50 x 1.50" shim washers (4),
one 1.00 x .045 x 1.50" shim washer (5) and a new
3/4-10 elastic locknut (6).

23. Install the top and side wear pads and spacers to the
front of the intermediate boom. Coat the intermediate
boom wear pad capscrews with Loctite
DO NOT allow Loctite
pads. Make sure that the housing support bracket (7)
gets installed with the wear pads and spacers on the left
side of the intermediate boom.

24. Measure all wear-pad gaps (refer to Section 4.3.7,
Boom Wear Pads for wear pad gap dimensions and
wear pad thickness requirements). Add or remove
shims as required. Replace the wear pads with new
parts, if needed.
25. Check and adjust the boom chain. (Refer to Section
4.3.6, Boom Chains for measurement and
adjustment procedures.)
26. Clean up all debris, hydraulic fluid, etc., in, on, near
and around the vehicle.
27. Connect the negative (-) battery cable (8) at the
negative (-) terminal on the battery in the engine side
battery box.
28. Connect the negative (-) battery equalizer cable (9)
at the bottom of the battery equalizer (10). Torque
the nut to a maximum of 100 lbs/in (11 Nm).
29. Replace battery box cover (11). Use the wing
nuts (12) and carriage bolts (13) to secure the cover

in place.
