Engine Installation

1. Attach the transmission to the engine by following
the procedure in Section 7.7.3, Transmission
Installation .
2. If removed during engine work, install the front
engine mounts (9 and 12) using six
M12-1,75 x 30 mm PC 8,8 capscrews (16) and
M12 lockwashers (15) into the appropriate locations
on the engine.
3. If removed during engine work, install the rear
engine mounts (10 and 11) using six
M12-1,75 x 40 mm PC 8,8 capscrews (17) and
M12 lockwashers (15) into the appropriate locations
on the engine.
4. If removed, attach a suitable engine hoist to the front
engine lift plate (24) and transmission lift plate (25).

5. Carefully install the engine onto the engine isolators
(13 and 14). Make sure the bracket-type engine
mounts (9,10, 11, and 12) align properly with the
engine mounts in the subframe.
Note: ALWAYS replace elastic locknuts with new elastic
locknuts to help ensure proper fastening.
6. At the front of the engine, install two 7/16-14 x 3-1/4"
capscrews (3) and 7/16" narrow flat washers (4) up
from the bottom of the hydraulic reservoir/engine
mount subframe and through the isolators (13).
Install two 7/16" rebound washers (2) and new 7/16-
14 elastic locknuts (1). Torque to 60 lb/ft (81 Nm).
Note: ALWAYS replace elastic locknuts with new elastic
locknuts to help ensure proper fastening.
7. At the rear of the engine, Install two 5/8-16 x 1-1/2"
capscrews (7) two 5/8" narrow flat washers (8) up
from the bottom of the hydraulic reservoir/engine
mount subframe and through the isolators (14).
Install two 5/8" rebound washers (6) and new 5/8-11
elastic locknuts (5). Torque to 180 lb/ft (244 Nm).
8. Install the radiator/oil cooler and and engine block
heater as required (refer to Section 8.6.3, Radiator/
Oil Cooler and Engine Block Heater Replacement ).
9. At the hydraulic fluid reservoir, connect the engine
harness wire lead (26) to the hydraulic oil
temperature sending unit (27).
10. Attach the wiring connectors at the secondary
function valve solenoids (28) located on the
hydraulic tank.
