7. Remove the four capscrews (7) and flange head
nuts (8) mounting the service brake valve mounting
plate (9) to the steering column support. Bring the
service brake valve with mounting plate out through
the top of the dash.
DO NOT disassemble the service brake valve. The ser-
vice brake valve is not serviceable and must be replaced
in its entirety, if defective, as no replacement parts are
available for internal components.

8. Remove the two countersunk screws (10) holding
the brake valve (11) to the mounting plate (12). Save
the mounting plate and screws for assembling the
new brake valve.

b. Service Brake Valve Reassembly
Note: Use new oiled o-rings as required. ALWAYS
replace seals, o-rings, gaskets, etc., with new parts to
help ensure proper sealing and operation. Lubricate
seals and o-rings with clean hydraulic oil
1. Transfer the fittings to the new brake valve. Note the
orientation of each fitting before removing them.
2. Transfer the elbow (13) to the tank port on the top of

the new brake valve. Tighten securely.
3. Transfer the two tee fittings with diagnostic nipples
(14) to the "A" ports on the side of the new brake
valve. Tighten securely.
4. Transfer the two elbows (15) to the two pressure
ports on the bottom side of the new brake valve.
Tighten securely.
5. Place the new brake valve with fittings (11) on the
mounting plate (12) with the diagnostic nipples
toward the long side of the mounting plate.

6. Line up the holes in the mounting plate (12) with the
threaded holes in the mounting flange of the brake
valve (11).
7. Apply Loctite® threadlocker 242 (blue) to the threads
of each countersunk screw (10). Insert the screws
through the plate and thread into the brake valve.
Torque both screws to 18 lb/ft (24 Nm).
