Fuse and Relay Replacement

Shut off the engine and disconnect the batteries before
checking the electrical system fuses or relays.
1. Remove engine side battery box cover (6). Remove
wing nuts (7) and carriage bolts (8) and set cover
and mounting hardware aside for later re-assembly.
2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable (9) at the
battery negative (-) terminal on the battery in the
engine side battery box.
3. Disconnect the negative (-) cable (10) at the bottom
of the battery equalizer (11).

4. Remove a suspect fuse (Refer to Section 10.6.2,
Fuse and Relay Locations for locations of fuses and
relays) from the fuse and relay panel by pulling the
fuse or relay straight out and away. ALWAYS install
the correct amp rated fuse or relay.
Replace a 125 amp equalizer fuses as follows:
5. Remove the blown fuse and associated hardware.
Discard all items.
6. Insert the new capscrew (14) through the tab (15) on
the equalizer (13).
7. Place a flat washer (16) and new fuse (12) onto the
capscrew. Position fuse as required to best see the
clear window.
8. Place the positive cable (17) onto the capscrew.
9. Place the nylon shoulder washer (18) onto the
capscrew and place against the positive cable with
the hub toward the cable.
10. Secure in place with a flat washer (19),
lockwasher (20) and hex nut (21). Torque the hex nut
to a maximum of 100 lbs/in (11 Nm).

11. Connect the negative (-) battery cable (9) at the
battery negative (-) terminal on the battery in the
engine side battery box.
12. Connect the negative (-) battery equalizer cable (10)
at the bottom of the battery equalizer (11). Torque
the nut to a maximum of 100 lbs/in (11 Nm).
13. Replace battery box cover (6). Use the wing nuts (7)
and carriage bolts (8) to secure the cover in place.
