3. Allow the hydraulic fluid to cool.
WARNING:
under pressure can penetrate the skin, causing
death or serious injury. Relieve hydraulic pres-
sure before servicing any hydraulic component.
4. Remove the protective cover (11) around the fork side
shift valve (12) on the front of the gooseneck (13).
5. Disconnect the fork side shift quick couplers (14) on the
carriage from the quick couplers (15) on each side of the
gooseneck (13). Install the protective caps (16) on all the
quick couplers.

6. Label or otherwise mark the hydraulic hoses (17) in
relation to the fork side shift manifold (18).
Disconnect and cap all hoses, fittings, solenoid wire
terminal leads, etc. It is not necessary to remove the
quick couplers from the mounts on each side of the
gooseneck.
7. Loosen the hex nuts (19) holding the fork side shift
valve manifold (20), manifold spacer (21) and the
mounting plate (22) to the gooseneck. Slide the
valve and plates up in the key hole mounting slots
(23) and remove from the gooseneck.

8. The manifold spacer (21) and the mounting plate
(22) can now be removed from the side shift valve
manifold if needed by removing the hex nuts (19)
from the carriage bolts (24).
