Intermediate Boom
IMPORTANT: The wear pads installed on the top, front
(6) and bottom rear (7) intermediate boom are special
wear pads. Be sure to replace them with the correct wear
pads. The two wear pads (8) on the left side of the inter-
mediate boom are secured to the boom with the housing
support bracket (9), capscrews, lockwashers and flat
washers.
The inner boom and extend/retract cylinder must be re-
moved from the vehicle to allow removal of the rear wear
pads on the rear top and rear sides of the intermediate
boom, and the wear pads on the rear bottom of the inter-
mediate boom. Refer to Section 4.3.2, Inner Boom Re-
placement for information on removing the inner boom
and extend/retract cylinder. Coat all wear pad capscrews
®
with Loctite 242
(blue) before installation. DO NOT allow
®
Loctite
to come into contact with wear pads.
