Fork Side Shift Circuit Description

The fork side shift circuits are controlled by individual
rocker switches located on the right side console to the
rear of the joystick. The right side switch (1) controls the
right side fork and the left side switch (2) controls the left
side fork.
a. Left Fork - Shift Right (page 9.68)
Press the bottom of the left fork shift switch to
shift the left fork to the right. The switch is
spring loaded to return to the center OFF posi-
MM3500
tion when released.
When the bottom of the switch is pushed, one of the so-
lenoids on the fork side shift valve is energized allowing
hydraulic oil at system pressure to pass thru the valve
block mounted on the left side of the carriage. The hy-
draulic oil is then directed into the rod end of the left fork
cylinder, shifting the fork to the right.
Oil from the base end of the left fork cylinder is returned
through the valve block, through the fork side shift valve
and back to the hydraulic oil reservoir by going through
the main control valve to the return filter in the reservoir.
b. Left Fork - Shift Left (page 9.70)
Press the top of the left fork shift switch to shift
the left fork to the left. The switch is spring load-
ed to return to the center OFF position when re-
MM3510
leased.
When the top of the switch is pushed, one of the sole-
noids on the fork side shift valve is energized allowing hy-
draulic oil at system pressure to pass thru the valve block
mounted on the left side of the carriage. The hydraulic oil
is then directed into the base end of the left fork cylinder,
shifting the fork to the left.
Oil from the rod end of the left fork cylinder is returned
through the valve block, through the fork side shift valve
and back to the hydraulic oil reservoir by going through
the main control valve to the return filter in the reservoir.
