DASH PANEL WARNING INDICATOR TROUBLESHOOTING

The following nine troubleshooting flow charts discuss each dash panel indicator separately. Additional information for
each indicator can be found by referring to Section 10.7.7, Main Electrical Schematic (Sheet 2 of 6) .

Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Indicator Troubleshooting

Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:
1. Fuses.
2. Batteries for proper
charge.
3. All connections relating
to circuit are clean and
tight.

Engine Coolant Temperature
Warning Indicator
Engine Coolant
Temperature Warning
Indicator stays ON
while operating.
Check radiator coolant level,
fan belt tension, radiator cap,
thermostat and for plugged
condition or debris on radiator.
If OK
Check connections at
temperature sending unit and
back of dash panel.
If OK
Disconnect harness at
sending unit. Indicator
should go out.
If OK
Replace engine coolant
temperature sending unit and
retest system.

Check circuit for grounded
wire 12A (RED/BLU)
at pin D. If grounded,
