46. Connect the positive (+) battery cable leads (11) to
the starter post (12), then to the battery. Connect the
blue wire lead (13) to the starter solenoid stud,
located on the backside of the starter, between the
engine and the starter. Connect the white wire lead
to the starter top boot connector (14). DO NOT
connect the negative (-) lead at this time.

47. Twist the turbo outlet exhaust pipe (17) through the
side shield and on to the engine turbo outlet. Install
but DO NOT tighten the V-band clamp (18) to the
turbo outlet exhaust pipe and engine turbo outlet. As
one unit, fit the exhaust pipe (19), muffler (20) and
tail pipe (21) onto the turbo outlet exhaust pipe.
Install the 3" heavy duty tail pipe clamp (22), and
both U-type clamps (23 and 24). Position exhaust
system and tighten all clamps.

48. If removed during engine work, secure the air
cleaner mount plate (25) to the engine with three
3/8-16 x 1-1/4" Grade 5 capscrews (26) and
3/8" lockwashers (27). Torque to 31 lb/ft (42 Nm).
Note: ALWAYS replace elastic locknuts with new elastic
locknuts to help ensure proper fastening.
49. Secure the air cleaner mount band assembly (28) to
the mount plate (25) using two 5/16-18 x 1"
capscrews (29), 5/16" narrow flat washer (30) and
new 5/16-18" elastic locknuts (31). Torque to 18 lb/ft
(24 Nm).
50. Install the air cleaner assembly (32) in its entirety.
51. Install the air cleaner hose (33) between the
turbocharger intake port and air cleaner assembly
using T-bolt clamp (34) and a heavy duty T-bolt

clamp (35).
52. Install the air intake hose (36) between the air
cleaner assembly (32) and engine panel (37) using
two T-bolt clamps (38). Secure T-bolt clamps.
Connect the air cleaner restriction sensor (39) wires.
