13. Turn the joystick handle (21) counterclockwise until the
threaded shaft (22) is free of the base.
14. Remove the hex nut (23) from the threaded shaft.
Save the nut for reassembly.

15. Use a 3/8-16 tap to clean the excess Loctite
the threaded hole in the top of the valve.
Joystick Handle Installation
1. Assemble the hex nut (23), saved in Step 14 of the
"Removal" procedure, onto the threaded stud of the
new handle assembly. Turn the hex nut all the way up.

2. Apply Loctite
#272 (red) to the threaded shaft (22)
on the joystick handle (21).
3. Position the threaded shaft (22) into the base
mounting hole and turn the handle to thread it into the
valve. Turn the handle approximately halfway into the
thread hole. Align the joystick in the forward position.
Secure the joystick by tightening the jam nut.
4. Carefully thread the joystick wires (9) through the small
hole (19) in the mounting plate. DO NOT damage the
terminals while pushing the wires through the hole.

5. Pull the wires through the logic panel opening in the
console.
6. Place the wires under the clamps (17) mounted to
the joystick mounting plate. Position the wires so that
they do not interfere with the joystick handle
movement and the wires have enough slack when
the handle is moved in either direction from center.
Tighten the clamps.
7. Make sure that the locking tabs (24) on the terminals
(25) of the new joystick handle wires are in the OUT
position.
8. Reuse the connector (26) removed in Step 10 of the
"Removal" procedure and insert the new joystick

wires into the rear of the connector. Insert the wires
into the cavities, as marked at the rear of the
connector. Push the wires in, until they lock in place.
• RED wire to cavity A
• WHITE wire to cavity B
• BLUE wire to cavity C

• GREEN wire to cavity D
• YELLOW wire to cavity F
Note: Cavity E should have a cavity plug (27) installed.
Replace the plug if it is missing.
9. Install the gray secondary lock (28) removed in Step 9
of the "Removal" procedure onto the rear of the
connector. Place the wires into the cutouts of the
lock and then snap the lock onto the connector.
DO NOT pinch any of the wires.
